Professor Martin leads a research group at Harvard University that addresses scientific problems engineering challenges and technical breakthroughs in the atmospheric sciences especially as related to the roles of particulate matter in air quality climate and atmospheric chemistry. Recent research has taken place both in field work in the Amazon basin and laboratory studies centered at the Harvard Environmental Chamber. Martin served as the Principal Investigator of the Amazonian Aerosol Characterization Experiment (AMAZE-08) and the Observations and Modeling of the Green Ocean Amazon (GoAmazon2014/5) Experiment. He serves as a Visiting Professor at Amazonas State University Brazil.
