Arts@DRCLAS: Play: La Casa de Bernard Alba

Date:

Wed - Sat, Apr 13 to Apr 16, 7:00pm - 7:00pm

Location:

Agassiz Theatre, Radcliffe Yard, Cambridge

After the death of her second husband, Bernarda Alba imposes an 8-year mourning period on her household. The disgrace that befalls her 5 daughters as they adhere to this repressive family tradition is the locus of the play as they dream (and scheme) to win the favor of Pepe el Romano – and the opportunity to leave the House forever.Teatro’s fresh adaptation features an immersive set with actors and spectators in close proximity and accomplishes it all without the character of Bernarda Alba. All dialogue will be in Spanish.
