Global issues, such as the current pandemic, the challenge of climate change, and global migration, have challenged traditional notions of citizenship centered on the primacy and independence of the nation-state. What is the meaning of citizenship in a globalized world? What insights can we draw from history to enrich our understanding of what it means to be a citizen? To answer these questions, Harvard's Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece will bring together an interdisciplinary group of academics from Classics, Roman history, anthropology, philosophy, and sociology, along with alumni from Harvard/CHS programs in Greece which focus on such topics.

Screen reader support enabled.

Presented as part of Harvard Worldwide Week in collaboration with DRCLAS Brazil Office, Center for Hellenic Studies - Greece, and Mittal Institute Delhi Office
