Outdoor Candle Lighting 5:30–7:00 pm

Stop by the Peabody Museum anytime from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, for a short moment of personal reflection. The front steps of the museum will be set up as an outdoor altar and staff will distribute lighted candles to visitors (one per group while supplies last) in remembrance of those we have lost. Upon arrival, visitors will be directed to a one-way line to maintain safe distances. The museum respectfully requests that visitors keep their time in front of the temporary altar to one minute so everyone can be safely accommodated with social distancing protocols. Arrive on foot or by bicycle. Drivers may use free on-street parking on Kirkland, Oxford or nearby streets. Divinity Avenue will be closed to vehicles. Outdoor Candle Lighting is weather-permitting; check the museum’s website by 4:30 pm on November 1 for updates.

Co-sponsored by the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & EthnologyHarvard Museums of Science & Culture, the Consulate General of Mexico in Boston, and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Harvard University.
