Moderator: Michael Chu, Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School

Nicolas Shea is a Chilean entrepreneur. He is the founder of Start-Up Chile, eClass, Cumplo, ASECH & the Group of 100 (G100),  former advisor of entrepreneurship & innovation to the Chilean Ministry of Economy, and recipient of two National Innovation awards nominated Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He is also the author of “Start-Up Chile: The Story of Chile’s entrepreneurial revolution” and has a M.Sc. Management degree from Stanford, M.Sc. Education from Columbia, B.A. in business and economics from the Catholic University of Chile, where he teaches entrepreneurship to MBAs and future engineers. 

Michael Chu is a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, where he serves as the Faculty Chair for Latin America. He is also a partner and co-founder of IGNIA Partners LLC, a venture capital firm based in Mexico. He has been a pioneer in equity investing in emerging markets, participating in the creation of commercial microfinance and the founding and governance of among others BancoSol (Bolivia), Mibanco (Peru), and Compartamos Banco (Mexico.) He also co-founded Grupo Pegasus in Argentina where he remains a Senior Advisor. Previously, he was president and CEO of ACCION International, a member of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co in New York, and SVP and CFO of PACE Industries, ranked by Forbes as one of the largest 20 private companies in the U.S. He has an MBA (Highest Distinction) from Harvard Business School and a BA (Honors) from Dartmouth College.
