Speaker: Alejandro Wolff

Longtime diplomat Alejandro Wolff will analyze challenges that the Trump administration will have to address leading up to the November 2020 US presidential elections.

Topics to be discussed will include how the current solid economy could play well for the administration; repercussions of the Mueller Report and the NY federal prosecutor investigations into possible campaign-finance violations; the upsurge of Democratic candidates as Primary Season approaches; and several issues on international affairs, including:

· The border wall – will it get built? Does it matter?
· Trade with China – where will it lead?
· North Korea containment – is it possible?

Alejandro D. Wolff served as US Ambassador to Chile (2010-2013) and to the United Nations (2005-2010). He retired from the State Department in 2013 after a 33-year career during which he held key positions in France, the EU, Cyprus, Morocco and Algeria. His assignments in Washington included tours as Deputy Executive Secretary of the State Department (1996-1998) and as Executive Assistant to Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell (1998-2001).
