*CANCELLED* Pre-Colombian Conference Workshop: “Designing Regional Public Policies for Colombia’s Post-Conflict”

Thursday, April 26, 2018, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

CGIS South, S040, 1730 Cambridge Street

What is the key to attain sustainable peace in Colombia after the agreements negotiated between the government and FARC-EC in Havana? This is the main concern in the minds of Colombian policymakers and academics concerned with Colombia’s internal conflict. The ingredient to long-lasting peace might be within Colombia’s departamentos and the ability of regional leaders to tackle complex problems with innovative tools. While Colombia, historically, has had a largely centralized, Bogota-centric State apparatus, the regions are now ready to bring forth policy innovations and to shape their own destiny. Join government officials, the governors of various Colombian departamentos as well as a former White House innovation expert to discuss post-conflict public policies that could bring about a new era of opportunity for all Colombians.
