The Mexico Innovation Fund Awards $85,000 Grants to Three Harvard Professors

The Mexico Innovation Fund aims to deepen ties between Harvard and Mexican academia in order to address some of the most important issues facing Mexico. The Fund was established through the generous contributions of Harvard alumni and friends in Mexico and is designed to address three focus areas, to be chosen and changed each year. This year's areas were Sustainable Urban and Regional Development, Science, Technology, and Education, and Empowered Citizenship, State Capacity, and the Rule of Law. As a child I had many aspirations, such as exploring a rainforest, living in Brazil, and working on a farm. This past Summer I had the opportunity to do all three of these in one internship, DRCLAS’s Summer Internship Program (SIP). I spent eight weeks working at Sinal do Vale, an NGO based in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
