CAUSA celebrates 25 years

October 21, 2019

On October 17, 2019, the Cuban-American Undergraduate Students Association (CAUSA) celebrated 25 years since its foundation as a student organization at Harvard. Students and alumni alike gathered at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge for a Gala featuring speeches and performances by CAUSA members, alumni, and affiliates.

It was an absolute honor to hear from our co-founders, Carlos Zumpano and Cesar Conde, in addition to several supporters of CAUSA and the Cuba Studies Program. It was a night filled with warm laughter, memories, and (of course) Cuban rhythms and dancing!

Beyond that, it was a reunion that sparked insightful conversations between current CAUSA members and alumni, in addition to fostering a sense of unity among all those affiliated with the Cuban-American identity at Harvard. Above all, it was the most fulfilling and rewarding way to celebrate a quarter-century of an organization that has been a family--a home--to many at Harvard.
