Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Announcement

October 17, 2018

The Lown Scholars Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has opened applications for the Summer 2019 cohort. Since its establishment in 2008, The Lown Scholars Program has supported the work of more than fifty Lown Scholars from twenty countries. Our support has facilitated productive and long-term collaborations between Lown Scholars and Harvard faculty members. The only eligibility criteria are to have a full-time position in a developing country and a pre-proposal addressing cardiovascular disease prevention. Priority will be given to applicants with a track record of public health work in cardiovascular disease prevention and an idea with a great potential to impact cardiovascular health. Priority will also be given to applicants from centers or countries with current Lown Scholars, and those who have parallel funding (including other fellowships at Harvard). The program has identified three topical areas of priority. These are:

  • universal primary healthcare and health inequities

  • cardiovascular health in urban poor

  • psychosocial stress

  • cardiovascular disease

Applications are due by Thursday, November 1st.
