Amanda Lubniewski, EdM joined the DRCLAS Regional Office as the Post-Graduate Fellow in June 2018. In this role, Amanda helps facilitate Harvard professors’ endeavors and research within the Andean and Southern Cone countries of South America, connects with local collaborators and professional leaders, and supports the coordination of CASA study abroad and Harvard internship programs to the area.
Prior to joining DRCLAS, Amanda received a Master’s Degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with a concentration in Human Development and Pyschology. During her time at HGSE, she focued on coursework and initiatives regarding Early Childhood Education, across areas of research, policy, and practice.Previously, Amanda worked for four years as a preschool teacher in a bilingual school in Iquique, Chile. In addition, her volunteer experiences include teaching English to Kindergarteners in the Dominican Republic, constructing a playground as part of a school complex for girls in rural Tanzania, and teaching English to high school students in Iquique for one year. She graduated with the highest academic honors from SUNY Buffalo, receiving a BA in Early Childhood Development and Spanish Language and Literacy, having studied abroad for one semester in Barcelona, Spain. Currently, she is thrilled to form part of the DRCLAS team, and aims to stay connected to the realm of Early Childhood Education through involvement in local initiatives.
