Lorena Rodas Pineda joined DRCLAS in 2019, as the Mexico Office’s Assistant of Administration and Communications. Lorena now serves as the Coordinator, Student Programs, Mexico. She is responsible for managing DRCLAS-run academic and experiential programs throughout Mexico, such as field courses, the Winter Internship Program, the Summer Internship Program, as well as all collaborative programs in Mexico, such as the Colegio de México Summer Study Abroad Program. Lorena works directly with faculty working on Mexico, Harvard College and University students from all disciplines and schools, as well as community leaders, such as the program internship hosts, working to facilitate responsive, meaningful, and transformative experiences.  

Prior to working at DRCLAS, Lorena was an archival research specialist for Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and for the University of Bern. She has also collaborated as a consultant in the independent academic, cultural, and artistic space La Cosecha Librería-Editorial in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. She has also collaborated in Faltan más. 43 voces por Ayotzinapa, a book on the disappeared in Mexico’s war on drugs in the state of Guerrero. Lorena majored in History at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and has specialized in decolonial history and the history of science.
