Mauricio Alfredo Duce
Mauricio Duce received his law degree from Diego Portales University in Santiago-Chile and a Juridical Sciences Master's from Stanford University. A Professor at Diego Portales School of Law where he is also director of the Procedural Reforms and Litigation Program, and co-Director of the Master's Program in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.
Duce was deeply involved in the process for the reform of the criminal justice system in Chile from his position at the University and advised governmental and non-governmental organizations in the field (1992-2005). He has also helped the reform processes of several Latin American countries. He has been a visiting professor at several universities in Latin America, the US and Europe. He also published several books and articles about criminal procedure, evidence law, juvenile criminal justice and criminal justice reform in 13 countries. His current research focused on wrongful convictions and prosecutions and the mechanisms to correct and compensate victims of these errors.
