Miguel Quintana-Navarrete is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology. His main areas of interest are political sociology, the sociology of crime and the law, migration and the social organization and regulation of communities. His current research projects include studies of political discourse in Mexico; crime, disorder and collective efficacy in rural Latin American communities; and sentencing decisions and judicial processes in Mexican states. Miguel holds a BA in Law (JD equivalent) from Universidad de Sonora (Mexico) and an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice from King’s College London.
