Salvador del Solar
Salvador del Solar holds a Master’s in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs of Syracuse University. He was valedictorian of his Law School class at the Peruvian Catholic University. After graduating, he studied acting and has appeared in films such as The Vanished Elephant (2014), Greetings to the Devil (2011), and Pantaleon y las Visitadoras (2000). Television work includes Narcos (2015), and Comando Elite (2014). His stage work includes productions of Hamlet, King Lear, Twelfth Night, and Pillowman, among others. Magallanes (2015), his debut as writer and director of a feature film, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received five nominations, including best film, at the 2016 Ibero American Platino Awards. In 2016, he returned to Peru to join the government as Minister of Culture. He held the position until January of 2018.
