Tiago Genoveze joined the Brazil Office of Harvard University’s David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) in April 2017. As Program Coordinator, Tiago promotes the engagement of Harvard students with Brazil and runs the Mentoring and Language Acquisition in Brazil (MLAB) and Summer Internship programs. Prior to joining DRCLAS, he facilitated the learning experiences of International Honors Program students researching health, cities and social entrepreneurship in São Paulo. In 2014, Tiago was awarded Hivos’ Actors for Change grant to edit and publish Miradas de Solentiname: fotografías y reflexiones, a photography book featuring images taken by children and teenagers from Solentiname, Nicaragua; a prologue by Ernesto Cardenal; as well as Tiago’s own writings. The pictures included in the book were taken over a year’s worth of photography workshops that Tiago coordinated as a volunteer in 2010. Tiago also has experience teaching English to children and adults using affective learning strategies; organizing literary discussion groups for non-native English speakers; coordinating rap translation workshops; and translating contemporary Brazilian literature to English. Tiago holds a B.A. in English and a certificate in literary translation.
