Summer Study Abroad at Colegio de Mexico

Program Overview

Participants have the opportunity to receive academic credit for coursework on contemporary Mexico and to pursue independent research under the supervision of faculty members at COLMEX. The program includes a five-week intensive Summer study schedule where students select 4 classes to take. The 2020 course offerings are forthcoming, please click here for the 2019 offerings for reference. 

Students who wish to apply for transfer credit for their coursework at the Colegio are required to submit an application to the Office of International Education. It is important to check with the OIE regarding important dates and applications to facilitate these transfers.

Eligibility

Current Harvard College and Harvard graduate students in good standing with the requisite Spanish language capabilities are eligible to participate. 

Application Requirements

Students interested in the COLMEX program should apply through the regular DRCLAS SIP application via Centralized Application for Research and Travel (CARAT). For complete instructions on applying, please visit our Summer Opportunities Application Information page. 

Program Costs & Availability of Funding

Program Costs: $2,200
Students are responsible for covering daily meals and airfare. In the past, students have spent an average of an additional $1,250 on independent activities and expenses, excluding airfare). 

**DRCLAS does have funding available for students with demonstrated financial need.
