Sol Carbonell

Executive Director

Sol Carbonell serves as the Executive Director, responsible for guiding strategy, programming, faculty and student engagement, fundraising and donor relations, staffing, and budget. She manages resource allocation and planning and oversees the internal and external communication and outreach strategy for the Center. She overseas DRCLAS' offices abroad, in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, and collaborates with them on strategic priorities.

With more than 20 years of experience across multiple sectors, Carbonell comes to DRCLAS from the Federal Reserve, where she spent almost ten years focused on promoting the economic strength of low-income communities and leveraging the research and convening power of the Fed to inform policy and practice.

Carbonell holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She also studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Buenos Aires in her native Argentina and the MIT Sloan School of Management. She has been an advisor to national organizations such as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the Association of Latinos for America and is currently a board member at the Boston Museum of Science. She has been recognized for her community contributions by the U.S. Congress, InBusiness Magazine, the Boston Business Journal  and Amplify Latinx.
