The 4th #AprendoEnCasa Learning Lab International Conference
The #AprendoenCasa Learning Laboratory is a space for conferences and workshops guided by leading professors from Harvard University and experts from the region, with tools to inspire, share and create.
Speaker: Richard Weissbourd, Professor of Education and director of the Faculty of Human Development and Psychology at Harvard University; Emiliana Rodríguez, founder and Director of Education at AtentaMente and a Master in Mind, Brain and Education at Harvard University
This conference will address, among other topics, the following questions:
- How can we move toward a society in which children learn to care about others and the common good and to seek equity and justice?
- How can we promote socio-emotional education through teacher training and pedagogical practice?
He is currently a senior lecturer in education at HGSE and the Kennedy School of Government. He is also co-director of the Faculty of the Master's program in Human Development and Psychology. His work focuses on childhood vulnerability and resilience, the achievement gap, moral development, and effective schools and services for children. He leads the Making Caring Common Project, a national effort to set moral and social development priorities in child rearing and provide strategies for schools and parents to promote childcare, commitment to justice, and other key moral, emotional, and social capacities.
Founding partner and Director of Education at AtentaMente Consultores. She has a master's degree in Mind, Brain and Education at Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in Physics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her work focuses on curriculum development, teacher training and linking scientific research to the pedagogical practice of socio-emotional education. From AtentaMente, she has developed and taught various socio-emotional education programs in the educational field, as well as at companies and government institutions. She has been a consultant for institutions such as the United Nations Development Program, Mind and Life Institute, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) in Mexico, UNESCO, among others. As a consultant for the SEP, she participated in the design of the Curriculum of Socio-Emotional Education in Primary Education. She is a member of the global coalition for social-emotional education KARANGA.
