Ecuadorians head to the polls on February 7 to elect a new president and legislature. Will former president Rafael Correa be able to continue his legacy through his favored candidate, Andrés Arauz? Will the third time be a charm for right-wing businessmen Guillermo Lasso? Or will a new left that rejects Correa and the right be able to woo voters through indigenous candidate Yaku Pérez? Join us to discuss the results and what they mean for Ecuador’s path out of a precarious financial situation and global pandemic.

Presented in collaboration with Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS), Columbia University
