A comparative dialogue on education quality, equity and access in times of Coronavirus, with Margot Gill, Administrative Dean for International Affairs in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University (USA), Marcelo Knobel, President of the State University of Campinas (Brazil), moderated by Paula Louzano, Director of the School of Education at the Diego Portales University (Chile).

Dr. Margot N. Gill is the Administrative Dean for International Affairs in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. From 1994 to 2015 she served as the Administrative Dean for Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, overseeing the administration, admissions, and financial aid for the largest and most international graduate school at the University. She currently chairs the University’s Committee on General Scholarships and oversees agreements and government relationships throughout Latin America, Asia, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She completed her MA and PhD degrees in archaeology at Boston University.

Dr. Marcelo Knobel is the President of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics Professor in the Department of Physics of Condensed Matter, Unicamp, working in the experimental investigation of nanostructured magnetic materials. He was Dean of Graduation at Unicamp from 2009 to 2013, implementing the Interdisciplinary Higher Education Program (ProFIS), combining social inclusion with general training. He completed his PhD in Sciences at UNICAMP, and post-doctoral studies at the Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale Galileo Ferraris, Turin, Italy, and at the Institute of Applied Magnetism, Madrid, Spain.

Dr. Paula Lozano is currently Director of the School of Education at the Diego Portales University in Chile. She formerly worked at the UNESCO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile between 2001 and 2004 in the area of educational statistics. She completed her MA in International Education Compared by Stanford University and her PhD in Educational Policy from Harvard University.
