Maria Bjerg is a History Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes and researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). She is a specialist in migration history, family history, and the history of emotions. Her current research project focuses on the history of domestic violence against women in Argentina in the first half of the 20th century. She is the author of El Mundo de Dorothea. La vida en un pueblo de la frontera de Buenos Aires en el siglo XIX (2004); El Viaje de los Niños. Inmigración, Infancia y Memoria en la Argentina de la Segunda Posguerra (2012); Lazos Rotos. La inmigración el matrimonio y las emociones en la Argentina entre los siglos XIX y XX (2019) and Emotions and Migration in Argentina at the Turn of the 20th Century (2021).
