Peggy Rockefeller Visiting Scholars & Fellows
This fellowship is funded by an anonymous donor in memory of Peggy Rockefeller, wife of Center founder David Rockefeller. The Peggy Rockefeller Fellowship provides support for a Visiting Scholar or Fellow from any country whose work involves Latin America.
Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Visiting Scholars & Fellows
Established through a gift from Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat, this fellowship is restricted to scholars and professionals from Argentina. Priority is given to those working on issues related to public policy, social and economic development, and other areas of importance for the development of Argentine scholarship and professional life.
The de Fortabat Graduate Student Fellowships also provide financial support for Argentine students who are admitted to graduate degree programs at Harvard each year. For more information on Graduate Student support, please visit Harvard's Committee on General Scholarships.
Lemann Visiting Scholars & Fellows
This fellowship was endowed with a gift from Jorge Paulo Lemann and is available to scholars and practitioners from Brazil or those who are working on Brazilian topics.
The Lemann Fellowships also provide financial support for Brazilian students who are admitted to graduate degree programs at Harvard each year. For more information on Graduate Student support, please visit Harvard's Committee on General Scholarships.
Central American Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Central American Fellowship was created by endowment gifts from Federico Bloch; Ernesto Fernandez Holmann; Alejandro, Joaquin, and Miguel Gomez; Jose Ignacio Gonzalez; Carlos Lacayo; Jaime and Margarita Montealegre; Ricardo Poma; Adolfo Salume; Francisco de Sola; Francisco Soler; and Lorenzo Weisman. It is available to scholars and practitioners from Central America or those working on topics related to Central America.
Cuban Visiting Scholars
DRCLAS has assigned a high priority to overcoming the many obstacles that impede scholarly collaboration and exchange between individuals and institutions in Cuba and the United States. Guiding these efforts has been the conviction that restoring and enhancing cooperation between the U.S. and Cuban academic communities can play a significant role in promoting peaceful changes within and between our two countries. The Center has played host to over 90 Cuban visiting scholars for extended periods of work and collaboration in fields archival preservation and indexing, botany, economics, history, medicine, microbiology, organismic and evolutionary biology, political science, public administration and urban planning.
Luksic Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Luksic fellowship was created through a generous donation by the Luksic family in 1999 and is available to scholars and practitioners exclusively from Chile.
Santo Domingo Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Santo Domingo Fellowship in Andean Studies was established with a gift from Julio Mario Santo Domingo and is available to scholars and practitioners from Colombia and Ecuador or those working on topics related to either of these two countries.
Fundacion Mexico en Harvard-Antonio Madero Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Fundacion Mexico en Harvard-Antonio Madero Visiting Scholar fellowship is restricted to Mexican scholars with Mexican citizenship, from top research universities in Mexico working in the field of education and related areas.
The Fundacion Mexico en Harvard also provides partial financial support to Mexican citizens accepted into Harvard graduate and professional degree programs. For more information, please visit their website.
Custer Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Custer fellowship was created by the Tony Custer Family Endowment and is available to scholars and/or leading practitioners from Peru or dedicated to the study of Peru.
Wilbur Marvin Visiting Scholars & Fellows
The Wilbur Marvin Fellowship is made possible by a fund established at the Center in memory of Harvard graduate Wilburn Marvin. It is available to scholars focusing on Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, with preference given to researchers working on issued related to medicine, public health, the environment, education, and strengthening philanthropy.
Cisneros Visiting Scholars & Fellows
Created with an endowment gift from Patricia Phelps de Cisneros and Gustavo Cisneros, this fellowship is available to scholars and practitioners from Venezuela or working on Venezuelan topics.
